the February 6, 2023 Earthquake in the Republic of Türkiye

Abstract

In 1968 MacDonald foresaw the possibility that in the future the military might

develop the means to trigger earthquakes: “The key to geophysical warfare is the

identification of the environmental instabilities to which the addition of a small

amount of energy would release vastly greater amounts of energy.” In 1997, U.S.

Secretary of Defense William Cohen confirmed military involvement in such

activities. In 2002, the 90 deputies of the Russian State Duma warned the United

Nations that Americans were experimenting with a new geophysical weapon and

demanded an international ban. The United States, Norway and other nations

possess electromagnetic “ionosphere heaters” that are capable of triggering

earthquakes. On February 6, 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred

in southern Turkey near the northern border of Syria, followed by another

earthquake and aftershocks that devastated parts of Turkey and Syria, with the

death toll reportedly exceeding 55,100, the majority being women and children,

many more injuries, and an estimated 1.5 million people made homeless. Real and

fake news reports before and immediately following the event, together with

scientific facts and circumstances described here, warrant a full, thorough, and

complete investigation by the International Criminal Court of our allegations that

said February 6, 2023 earthquake was deliberately triggered and constitutes war

crimes and crimes against humanity.

ALLEGATIONS OF CRIMES: INTRODUCTION

In 1968 MacDonald [1] foresaw the possibility that in the future the world’s militaries might

develop the means to trigger on-demand covert environmental modifications to cause storms,

floods, droughts, earthquakes, and tidal waves. As he explained:

“The key to geophysical warfare is the identification of the environmental instabilities to which

the addition of a small amount of energy would release vastly greater amounts of energy.”

As reviewed [2], MacDonald [1] discussed purposefully triggering instabilities in such large- scale natural systems as the weather, the climate, the oceans, and the human brain, including

such phenomena as hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis for use in warfare. He was aware,

considering the limitations of geophysical understanding, that one should also anticipate

unforeseen adverse consequences that could arise from deliberately disturbing complex

natural systems that have unknown “tipping points.”

In 1997, U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen confirmed military involvement in just the

activities Macdonald had predicted as evidenced by Cohen’s direct statement [3]:

“Others are engaging...in an eco-type terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off

earthquakes, [and] volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.... It’s real,

and that’s the reason why we have to intensify our efforts.”

An unclassified final document of findings and determinations signed by 90 deputies, released

by the Russian State Duma in 2002, and sent to President Putin, the United Nations, and others

warned that Americans were experimenting with a new type of geophysical weapon without

international control, referred to as HAARP, the acronym for High Frequency Active Auroral

Research Program [4]. The signatories demanded that an international ban be placed on such

large-scale geophysical experiments.

In 2011, an email from Jacob J. (Jake) Sullivan (now National Security Advisor to the Biden

Administration) to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton [5] indicates that the time of a 6.3

magnitude earthquake in New Zealand was known in advance and provides compelling

evidence that the earthquake was deliberately triggered:

And on cue... [emphasis added]

That earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.9 km, later estimated to be magnitude 6.1. There were

185 deaths as a result of the earthquake, and 6,659 major injuries (in the first 24 hours) [6]. A

delegation of 9 U.S. Congressmen departed the city before the quake occurred [7].

On February 6, 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in southern Turkey near

the northern border of Syria. This earthquake was followed about 9 hours later by a 7.5

magnitude earthquake approximately 90 km to the north [8]. These earthquakes and

aftershocks devastated parts of Turkey and Syria with the death toll reportedly exceeding

55,100, the majority being women and children [9-11], and an estimated 1.5 million people

made homeless [12] (Figure 1). News reports before and immediately following the event,

together with scientific facts and circumstances presented below, warrant a full, thorough, and

complete investigation by the International Criminal Court of our allegation that the said

February 6, 2023 earthquake was deliberately triggered and constitutes war crimes and crimes

against humanity.

METHOD AND MEANS FOR TRIGGERING EARTHQUAKES

Rocks under stress beginning to fracture generate electromagnetic radiation [13-16]. So, it is

also with earthquakes [17-19].

Earthquakes result from the catastrophic release of stress that had developed as tectonic plates

grated together. Numerous studies, e.g. [14, 17-23], have documented that, as earthquakes are

about to occur, electromagnetic radiation is produced at ultra low frequencies (ULF, <3 Hz),

extremely low frequencies (ELF, 3-3000 Hz), and very low frequencies (VLF, 3-30 kHz). As

electromagnetic radiation, observed as earthquakes are about to occur [14, 17-23], is observed

at or above the surface, demonstrates that electromagnetic radiation of said frequencies can

travel through the ground to the depth at which some earthquakes occur. The specific

mechanism is yet unknown, but presumably involves micro-fractures forming a resonant cavity

or antenna.

A radiation producing resonant device will absorb energy from an external energy source at

the same resonant frequency. A vibrating tuning fork will initiate vibrations in a nearby

identical tuning fork. Thumping or circling the rim of a crystal glass with a moist finger will

cause a crystal glass to resonate in the audio frequency range; a singer’s voice at its resonant

frequency will cause a crystal glass likewise to resonate and even to shatter [24]. A radio

frequency circuit tuned to the frequency of external electromagnetic radiation will absorb

energy from external electromagnetic radiation of the same frequency [25]. The same general

principle applies to the electromagnetic radiation producing resonance of highly-stressed fault

lines in the Earth’s crust.

Without ambiguity it follows that ULF/ELF/VLF electromagnetic radiation of the appropriate

range of frequencies, applied to a highly stressed, unstable junction of tectonic plates, can

trigger an earthquake.

The ULF/ELF/VLF electromagnetic radiation produced in the early stages of earthquake

formation has been observed by satellites [14, 17-23], evidence that said radiation propagates

in the Earth-ionosphere waveguide [26]. Significantly, ULF/ELF/VLF electromagnetic radiation

produced by modulated high-frequency electromagnetic heating of the ionosphere [27-30]

with HAARP or similar ionospheric heaters such as Tromsø in Norway [31], can be steered [32,

33] and can travel thousands of kilometers in the Earth-ionosphere waveguide [34-37] to reach

a point of geophysical seismic instability to trigger an earthquake [38-40].
