ABSTRACT
The 2 Music Therapies are used for the elderly female insomnias of 2 groups
because insomnia is one of the major problems of menopausal women with
growing age. Each group has 21 insomnias. The Lambdoma Matrix Harmonic
Music (LMHM) and Medical Resonance Therapy Music (MRTM) therapies own
around 57% of success rate and around 52% of success rate, respective.
Therefore, the LMHM can recognize as the good therapy music to improve the
quality of sleeping.

INTRODUCTION
A type of the Mathematical music (MAMU) will be used as a music therapy that is Lambdoma
Matrix Harmonic Music (LMHM) based on the mathematical principle of Pythagoras similar to
Medical Resonance Therapy Music (MRTM) of Peter Hübner (1, 2). The LMHM and MRTM
belong to the MAMU of Pythagorean (3). Insomnia is one of the major problems of
menopausal women with growing age and is complexly related to a variety of causes. Women
may be more likely to have insomnia than men because women experience unique hormonal
changed that can cause insomnia (4, 5, 6).
OBJECTIVES
The objective focuses on treating elderly female insomnias to show the treatment efficacy for
improving the quality of sleeping using the LMHM. It is expected that the LMHM owns ability
to treat insomnia. For comparison, one music therapies will be used to treat elderly female
insomnia as the control group, which is the MRTM (for sleeping) because it has been
recognize as the good therapy music (1, 2)
METHOD: DESIGNING OF TREATMENTS FOR INSOMNIAS
For treating insomnia, there are 61 elderly female insomnia patients (age: 65-75), who have
agreed with music therapy (volunteers), in a large nursing home (location in Taipei). They
have already been taking a dose Zolpidem pill (10mg) for a long time. Therefore, before
treatment, to assess the patients, after they have been taking a dose Zolpidem pill, for each

patient, collect information on bedtimes, the time it takes the patient to fall asleep, the
number and duration of nighttime awakenings, the final awakening in the morning, the time
the patient gets out of bed. Nursing staffs are recorded in turns for half year.
There is not enough space and nursing staffs for treatments. Therefore, the 42 patients are
randomly selected from the 61 patients with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error
of 5%. After then, they are randomly classified into 2 groups. Each group is provided with the
21 patients. These treatments only hope to help the patients sleep by taking only half dose
with reducing the number of nighttime awakenings because once taking Zolpidem for a long
time, it is not easy to withdraw (e.g. occurring of withdrawal delirium) (7). This is why there
is no setting during treatment that the patients will fall asleep without taking sleeping pills
after treatment. The treatment time is from 01, to 30, September 2023 (Taiwan Standard
Time, TST). The treatment time point is set at pm: 9 every day (bedtime). The treatment time
is 30 minutes. In treatment process, the patients of 2 groups are simultaneously placed in the
2 quiet rooms, respectively (i.e. one group in one room). Be quiet when they are listening to
the music, they don’t not talk to each other and also don’t think about other things. Then let
them go to bed by taking only half dose (i.e. strictly limit them taking only half dose). In the
treatment time, they can sleep by taking only half dose and the number of nighttime
awakenings of them recorded by nursing staffs in turns in order to observe whether there is
any change in the number of nighttime awakenings of them. The number of nighttime
awakenings of them is indeed reduced. However, after treatment, if the number of nighttime
awakenings of them is really already reduced (i.e. taking only half dose to sleep) and then the
treatment efficacy is successful (also are recorded by nursing staffs in turns for long-term and
tracked for half year). The success rate, as a parameter, is used to define the treatment
efficacy. That is, the success rate of treatment efficacy with the percentage is defined as” [the
number of successfully treated patients after treatment (i.e. the patients can sleep with half
dose with reducing the number of nighttime awakenings) ÷ the number of patients before
treatment] ×100% “.
RESULTS
(1) The first group as the test group is treated using the LMHM. The 12 of them only need half
dose required to sleep. The treatment efficacy is around 57% of success rate. For the control
group, (2) The send group is treated using the MRTM. The 11 of them only need half dose
required to sleep. The treatment efficacy is around 52% of success rate.
DISCUSSION
From the previous results, the interaction between organs and the LMHM can form into a
resonance relationship. Such relationship can help body, mind and soul of human being, so
that healthy body, mind and soul are reached to improve the quality of sleeping from the
result of first group. Notably, if female insomnia patients live in another country and then the
treatment efficacies of these music therapies may have difference (i.e. different ethnic groups
may have different treatment efficacies). It means that music therapy is subjective. For the
same kind of therapy music, whether it is pure music or singing, everyone may have different
feelings. Even if it is the same music, but if different people sing it or different instruments are
used to present it, it is certain that everyone will have different feelings. Therefore, the more
suitable and general music therapies should be extended to other countries or regions, so that

these music therapies can be applied to all insomnia patients (not only female insomnia
patients). In this study, in Taiwan, however, at least some of patients already need half dose
required to sleep through tracking for half a year. Therefore, based on the mathematical
elements of LMHM as a music therapy (i.e. using the MAMU as a music therapy) that can be as
a preliminary evaluation of the body, mind and soul therapy to improve the quality of sleeping
and this evaluation can give an inspiration for future research of the LMHM, and then, using
new LMHM, sleep quality can be improved.
CONCLUSIONS
The treatment efficacies the LMHM and MRTM are around 57% of success rate and around
52% of success rate, respectively. Therefore, using the LMHM as the music therapy can serve
as a preliminary evaluation of the body, mind and soul therapy to improve the quality of
sleeping.
